Old Gdansk Crest or a climb worth the prize
A list of our proposals might not be opened otherwise than by recommending to you a tourist route known as the Old Gdansk Crest. It includes 8 from among the highest vantage points in the city, which are located in really attractive sites. So if you come to Gdansk and you have no sightseeing route planned yet, this is going to be one of most interesting options.
You can start sightseeing from the Townhall Tower and proceed through the Amber Museum, St. Catherine’s Church, St. Mary’s Basilica finishing at a lighthouse in New Port. Persistent wanderers who have no fear of stair challenges are going to be absolutely satisfied by eye pleasing sights and views and by winning the ‘Old Gdansk Crest Ascensionist’ badge – a very original souvenir from a visit to Tricity!
To get the badge you need to obtain 8 stamps – proof of your ascension to each of the assigned tourist attractions. Stamps are put in a special booklet you need to buy before starting your high level adventure.
Olivia Star viewing platform – reach even higher!
Contemporary Gdansk is not only made from architectural peals of olden times, but also modern buildings. Olivia Star tower is one of them. The skyscraper which is slowly becoming a symbol of the contemporary history of Gdansk has got a viewing platform open for viewers, located on the 32 floor, from which one can admire the city panorama at the height of 125 metres.
Until recently it has been the highest vantage point opened to the public in Gdansk. Red roof tiles of houses nearby, surrounding hills and sea shore observed from such a height are a really delightful sight. This is why we recommend this attraction to all city visitors!

The above mentioned attractions are only a handful of selected examples thanks to which you can look at Gdansk from a different perspective. There are a lot of other interesting vantage points in the city. The top of Pachołek [Stooge] Hill is surely one of them. Hiking to the top is a good opportunity to connect with nature. On the other hand the Westerplatte Watchtower is a real treat to history fans.
